For her birthday Erin received, from her Robo Mimi, a set of larva. We spent the next few weeks watching them pupate into caterpillars. We arrived home from camping just in time to see the last one spin itself into a cuccoon. Once the were all in their chryssalids, we moved them into their net habitat. Within days they all emerge as Painted Ladies, flying about and drinking from the sugar water Erin fed them. On Dave's last day with us, we let them go in the front yard. It was a spectacular thing to see from start to finish.
