In August of this year, Dave had the chance to travel to Germany to fly a gas balloon over the Alps. After spending four days in the rain, the launch was scheduled and came off without a hitch. Dave's Mom and Dad also went on the flight, as well as another couple of ballooning friends from Albuquerque. The flight left Southern Germany and lasted about six and half hours to land in Northern Italy. The pictures here show the launch in Germany and the views from the balloon during the flight. Even though the flight was at about fifteen thousand feet, it was quite warm the whole time! Our pilot here is Anja Kuemmerlein, a friend and co-worker from Germany.
